Fund Raising Continues For Meals Program
Fund raising is going well to help fill a shortfall in money for the area Meals on Wheels program.
Funding cuts from the state has put the program in the red by 30-thousand dollars, the Sierra Foothills Senior Management which oversees the Meals on Wheels program might have to drop homebound seniors from receiving a daily hot cooked meal, not to mention the seniors who come into the center daily for lunch
And during the community challenge events through November 14th, every dollar donated will be matched by area major sponsors.
Friday, senior center representatives and Black Oak Casino were at the Central California bank on South Washington Street in downtown Sonora to gather funds.
