The hearing to determine if fertilizer salesman Scott Peterson stands trial in the killings of his wife and unborn son has been postponed again. A judge in Stanislaus County Superior Court set the preliminary hearing for Wednesday – a day later than it had been scheduled.
Defense lawyer Mark Geragos is involved in a murder trial in Los Angeles, which has forced several delays.
Peterson is charged with murdering Laci Peterson, who was pregnant with their first child. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. The remains of the mother-to-be and fetus washed ashore in San Francisco Bay in April near where Scott Peterson said he was fishing Christmas Eve when his wife vanished from their Modesto home.
