The last formal debate in the recall election will take place in Los Angeles today, but only three candidates will be there. Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante, Senator Tom McClintock and Green Party candidate Peter Camejo will be at the Museum of Tolerance for the televised debate this afternoon.
Republican congressman Darrell Issa and state Democratic Party chairman Art Torres will also be there to speak for and against the recall. Arianna Huffington, who participated in the last debate, has since dropped out of the race.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has other plans. He will begin a four-day bus tour going from San Diego to Sacramento.
And the target of the recall, Governor Davis, is scheduled to sign a package of bills to increase understanding by students of environmental issues. The governor will ride out the final wave of the campaign by plane during a 3-day tour of the state beginning Saturday.
