Davis Holds Town Hall, Lashes Out at Schwarzenegger
Governor Davis took his case to voters in a town hall last night in Burbank. When asked to distinguish himself from Democratic front-runner Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante, Davis instead repeated assertions that Republicans are abusing the recall process.
Davis also indicated he´s not ready to join other leading Democrats who have endorsed Bustamante´s “no on recall, yes on Bustamante” strategy.
Davis said “After you vote ´no´ on the recall I don´t care who you vote for on question two.”
At an appearance earlier in Monterey Park, Davis raised the prospect of a one-on-one debate with Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. Davis accused Schwarzenegger of distorting his record and the state´s problems.
“I´m getting sick and tired of his (Schwarzenegger´s) distortions,” Davis said. “I may just have to debate him.”
