Former President Clinton is heading to California to help Governor Davis fight off the recall election. Clinton will join Davis Sunday at services at the First AME Church in South Central Los Angeles.
Clinton´s visit comes as polls continue to show Davis coming up short in an effort to avoid being kicked out of office October 7, although the pro-recall momentum has slowed somewhat.
Clinton has been a close adviser to fellow Democrat Davis since the recall campaign began in July.
Insiders say Clinton has helped shape some of Davis´ most recent efforts to “humanize” himself before voters including the round of town hall meetings the governor has held up and down the state in recent weeks.
