A pilot from Sonora was injured yesterday in a plane crash in Monterey. The Montery Herald reports that 56-year-old Hal Cunningham´s single engine plane ran into a tree and crashed on the sixth fairway of a golf course there.
Cunningham is in stable condition at San Jose Medical Center.
The other passenger in the plane, a woman whose name was not available, was taken to a different hospital and her condition was unknown.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown, but witnesses said it looked as though the plane may have run out of fuel as it prepared to land at Monterey Peninsula Airport.
