Bay Area Fires Mostly Contained
A series of grass fires around the San Francisco Bay area has been mostly contained. Fire officials say the blazes in Santa Clara, Stanislaus and Alameda Counties have burned more than 30,000 acres, but are now more than 85 percent contained.
The biggest fire still out of control is the Annie Fire, which has burned more than 17,000 acres in Stanislaus County.
Officials hope to fully contain the fires by tomorrow night.
Some crews from the grass fires are now being sent to fight smaller blazes elsewhere in the state. The Bay Area grass fires have burned no structures and caused only minor injuries.
