Don´t Throw Stuff On The Playing Field

The Assembly today approved a bill that would set a maximum $250 penalty for throwing items onto the playing field to disrupt a professional sports game. The vote was 74-2.

The bill also allows police at sporting events to issue a citation to anyone who throws items onto the field during a game.

The measure was approved by the state Senate yesterday on a vote of 33-3. The bill was returned to the Assembly for approval of Senate amendments.

The sponsor, Assemblywoman Rebecca Cohn of Saratoga, says AB-245 sends a clear and strong message that inappropriate behavior by fans will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
