Bustamante to Unveil Plan for State
California´s number two Democrat says he´ll have some “tough love” for the state if he´s promoted to governor in the October recall. Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante says he´ll discuss his plans at a news conference later today at his home outside Sacramento.
He´ll outline nearly $8 billion in new taxes or fees, and $4.5 billion in cuts or savings. California is struggling with a $38 billion deficit.
Bustamante is campaigning for a “no” vote on the recall, but a “yes” vote for him as a candidate on the second half of the ballot.
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has been criticized for not offering a specific agenda, plans to discuss his economic policies tomorrow.
