“Terminator” Raises Cash To Pay Campaign Debt
Arnold Schwarzenegger donned his Terminator persona to help raise more than $420,000 in just two days last month to repay a campaign debt owed by the after-school initiative he championed last year.
If there is money left over it could go to repay an additional $450,000 Schwarzenegger loaned the Yes on Proposition 49 campaign.
The rush to repay the initiative´s campaign debt comes as Schwarzenegger broadly hints he will run to replace Governor Davis in a midterm recall election.
Contributors lined up at the twin fund-raising events in both liberal San Francisco and Republican bastion Orange County, drawn by Schwarzenegger´s star power – or political potential.
