Supporters of Governor Davis are plotting potential court challenges to a Republican-led recall campaign and are preparing to take their counterattack public tomorrow.

Rescue California held a Sacramento news conference today to announce it was delivering the last batch of signatures to counties and had amassed more than 1.6 million. ThatÂ´s far more than the 897,158 necessary to get a recall on the ballot. Counties still must verify the signatures as valid.
