Volunteers looking for a missing pregnant woman from Modesto say they will move their efforts to Southern California this weekend. Volunteers will set up a one-day command center in Los Angeles on Sunday. They hope residents there will spread fliers with Laci Peterson´s picture across the area. She´s been missing since Christmas Eve.
Brad Saltzman is manager of the Red Lion Hotel, which hosts the Modesto volunteer command center. He says volunteers have done a good job of leafletting in Northern California, but so far they´ve had trouble in the south. Peterson was reported missing on Christmas Eve. She is due to deliver a baby boy in February.
Modesto police continue to look in surrounding counties surrounding Stanislaus County, but decline to say where.
