Volunteers aiding in the search for a missing pregnant Modesto woman will expand their effort to Southern California.
A one-day volunteer command center will be set up at the DoubleTree Hotel Westwood in Los Angeles Sunday in hopes residents will disperse posters of Laci Peterson throughout the area.
Brad Saltzman is manager of the Red Lion Hotel, which hosts the Modesto volunteer command center. He says volunteers have done a good job of getting out leaflets in Northern California, but so far they€™ve had trouble in the south. Peterson was reported missing on Christmas Eve. She is due to deliver a baby boy in February. Modesto police continue to look in counties surrounding Stanislaus County, but decline to say where.
