An autopsy is being performed today on a Sierra Conservation Center inmate who died Tuesday afternoon while working to build a firebreak in the hills near Groveland.
Officials say the inmate from Southern California collapsed while working outside. His name is not being released while next of kin are notified.
He was working in a group that was conducting training exercises just off the Priest Grade in Southern Tuolumne County.
