Threats Received For Hosting Search Effort

A Doubletree Hotel in Los Angeles has been receiving threatening phone calls because of a volunteer effort to find missing Modesto woman Laci Peterson.

Her husband, Scott Peterson, and his family were distributing fliers to volunteers at the hotel in Westwood Sunday. One of the organizers of the event said callers are blaming the hotel for “supporting a murderer.”

As Scott Peterson expanded the search to Southern California this past weekend, he has been the subject of scrutiny. Police told Laci Peterson€™s family last week they believe he was having an affair.

Meanwhile, the Petersons´ home was burglarized over the weekend, although police say the burglary isn´t connected with the case.

The pregnant 27-year-old has been missing since Christmas Eve.
