Mayors Stack Super Bowl Bets

Barbecue, beer, cigars and Cuban coffee are on the line when the Oakland Raiders take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl Sunday.

Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown and Tampa Mayor Dick Greco have bet each other on the outcome of the game. Brown is putting up barbecued ribs from Everett and Jones and two cases of hometown beer from Brothers Brewing. Brown€™s also throwing in a gondola ride on Oakland€™s Lake Merritt and a home-cooked meal.

Greco bet a weekend at the Tampa Marriott, a tour of Busch Gardens, a Spanish cookbook, sangria, coffee, cigars and guava jelly.

Brown already has collected a case of mustard from the mayor of Hempstead, New York, from the Raiders´ victory over the Jets. He€™s clearing space for a Bible and a Jack Daniels whiskey cake from the mayor of Nashville, thanks to Oakland€™s victory over the Titans.

Brown says he€™s not sure when he might get to Tampa to collect. The last time he was there — he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination against Bill Clinton.
