Stanislaus County Makes Large Drug Find
Several million dollars worth of cocaine were uncovered in a car at the Modesto Home Depot parking lot.
Modesto police announced yesterday that drug agents from the Stanislaus County Drug Enforcement Agency found more than 66 pounds of cocaine hidden in the car.
Agents received information that two Hispanic male adults had abandoned the drug filled vehicle in the parking lot and left the scene sometime Tuesday. Agents believe that the cocaine came here directly from a manufacturer in Mexico.
Sheriff´s Sergeant Mike Richards who supervised the operation says “Once the cocaine got packaged for sale it would probably have fetched several million dollars on the streets.”
The investigation continues and authorities are looking for the two men associated with the drug-filled car.
