Missing Woman Case Now A Homicide
Modesto police say the case of missing pregnant woman Laci Peterson has become a homicide investigation.
For more than two months, police have treated Peterson´s disappearance as a missing person case and they have not provided reasons for the change in classification. But a statement released Wednesday by the department´s lead homicide investigator Craig Grogan says authorities have increasingly come to believe that Laci Peterson is the victim of a violent crime.
Grogan says that belief has prompted a new $50,000 reward for “information that leads to her location and recovery.” Previously, a $500,000 reward had been offered for information leading to her safe return. Laci Peterson was eight months pregnant when she vanished.
