Employment Officials Issue a Correction

The Employment Development Department says it made a mistake when it reported last month that California lost 10,500 jobs in January. Actually, the state added 28,500 jobs.

The change means that over the 12 months ending in January, the state added 58,600 jobs instead of the 41,200 originally reported. But the correction doesn´t alter the unemployment rate for January, which was 6.5%.
