A California company is recalling several varieties of precooked, ready-to-eat fish cakes because they may contain undeclared egg. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The fish cakes were distributed to supermarkets in California, Washington, Colorado and Oregon. Marutama Company of Los Angeles says the fish cakes may be frozen or refrigerated.
The products under recall include those with the expiration dates of 4-18-2003 through 5-19-2003. To date, no illnesses or injuries have been reported.
