The Oakland Raiders want a judge to prevent the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers from wearing their current uniforms when they play in California.
The team says those uniforms violate the Raiders´ trademark rights. Oakland claims Tampa Bay´s pirate logo is too close to Oakland´s. And the Raiders object to the Panthers´ uniforms because two colors, silver and black, match those of the Raiders.
Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge John Herlihy didn´t act this week on Oakland´s request for a court order banning the uniforms inside the state. However, during a hearing, he seemed to indicate he was not inclined to rule for the Raiders.
