Oakland police want to make some changes to the alcohol policy at Network Associates Coliseum, following problems involving fans at some recent A´s games. Police are scheduled to meet Wednesday with A´s officials and Coliseum vendors to go over some ideas.
The meeting comes after two high-profile incidents where fans were arrested. Last week, a Martinez man was arrested after a fight in which he allegedly threw beer in another fan´s face. The suspect is accused of biting the arresting officer´s pinky to the bone.
On April 19, a Union City man was arrested at another A´s game after security officials said they saw him throw a cell phone at Texas Rangers right fielder Carl Everett´s head. A´s officials say the team is willing to discuss the problem with police.
