Law enforcement divers are back beneath the waters of San Francisco Bay this morning, looking for more evidence in the Laci Peterson murder case.
Contra Costa and Marin County divers, along with the Coast Guard, are looking in the water near Richmond. That´s where the body of Peterson and her unborn son were found about two miles apart last month.
Peterson´s husband, Scott, has been arrested and charged with murder in the deaths. He told authorities he was fishing off the Berkeley marina on Christmas Eve – the day his wife vanished from the couple´s home town of Modesto in the San Joquin Valley. He has pleaded innocent. Officials won´t say specifically what they are looking for.
Police also have refused to reveal how they believe Laci Peterson was killed or any of the evidence they compiled against Scott Peterson.
