A San Jose man was the subject of an intensive air and ground search late last night into the early morning.
Tuolumne County Sheriff spokesman Lt. John Steely says 54-year-old Lawrence Bolan is visiting his mother in Jamestown when he decided to go for a walk around three yesterday afternoon and look for old mine shafts. He hadn´t returned by 8:30 p.m. last night.
Search and rescue personal on foot, horseback and in the air searched the area between Jamestown and Lake Don Pedro throughout the night. Bolan was found in some brush by the lake at 5:30 a.m. this morning.
He has a history of heart problems, was short of breath and needed oxygen. He was transported by CDF helicopter and then by ambulance to Tuolumne General Hospital in Sonora for treatment. Steely says he is in good condition following the ordeal.
A similar search took placed earlier this week when a 73-year-old woman wandered off from a Jamestown care home. She was found safe after spending the night outdoors.
