The Center for Employment Training says it´s re-examining its relationship with the California Charter Academy– the state´s largest charter school. It follows an Associated Press report outlining apparent violations of state charter school law.
The California Charter Academy is a public school that runs 68 sites across the state, including sites in Sacramento and San Jose that are housed by the Center for Employment Training– a private post-secondary institution.
Under charter school law, charter schools are not allowed to enroll students that are also paying to attend a private school. The Center for Employment Training´s Executive Director Hermelinda Sapien says she is looking into apparent violations of state law.
