New Development In Peterson Case Raises Questions
Sources close to the Laci Peterson murder investigation now say that when the body of her baby washed up out of the San Francisco Bay, it had knotted plastic tape wrapped around it´s neck.
ABC News legal analyst Royal Oakes says there´s no telling how the tape got there. “All sorts of questions can be raised,” Oakes said. “How can this tape be wrapped around the baby´s neck, since we assumed, based on evidence, that the baby emerged from Laci´s body after her body had been dumped.”
The information could be damaging to Stanislaus County prosecutors who contend that Scott Peterson killed his wife either December 23rd or 24th in their Modesto home, then loaded up her pregnant body and drove 90 minutes to San Francisco Bay, where he dumped it. This new autopsy information obviously means the unborn child actually did not come out naturally. The defense could consider this evidence enough to exonerate their client.
