Prosecution Now Wants Autopsies Made Public

Stanislaus County District Attorney James Brazelton has filed a motion dropping the prosecution´s opposition to releasing the autopsies of Laci Peterson and her unborn son. Brazelton changed his tune after details of the autopsy were leaked to the news media. Only prosecutors and the defense have copies of the autopsy report.

The autopsy shows the body of Conner Peterson had a shoulder to shoulder cut and one and a half loops of plastic tape wrapped around his neck. That information was first reported on MSNBC.

Scott Peterson stands accused of killing his 8-months-pregnant wife.

A spokeswoman for Laci Peterson´s parents said they support Brazelton´s request to unseal the autopsy records. Spokeswoman Kim Petersen says the news reports have been devastating to Laci´s parents. She also says this is not the way to have to learn such details. Petersen says a court ordered release of the report would have been better.
