The mistress of accused murderer Scott Peterson says she wants to avoid a possible gag order in the case. A lawyer for Amber Frey says the massage therapist has no intention of granting interviews before her testimony but may need to be able to speak out to protect her reputation.
Attorney Gloria Allred says Frey has remained tightlipped without the gag order that will be discussed Friday in Stanislaus County Superior Court. Allred says such an order would prevent Frey from defending herself from a “continued onslaught of rumor and innuendo.”
Frey called police after learning that Peterson was married and that his wife was missing. Peterson is accused of murdering his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son in December.
