One of Governor Davis´ longtime chief political advisers is joining Senator Joe Lieberman´s Presidential campaign. Lieberman´s camp has announced that Garry South will be a senior adviser to the campaign.
South´s aggressive tactics are credited with engineering Davis´ hard fought re-election victory in November.
Lieberman spokesman Jano Cabrera says South will remain in Los Angeles and focus his efforts on the California campaign operation.
South left his job with Davis after the November election. He was often described as Davis´ alter-ego, an endlessly quotable master of spin whose brash style contrasted with his longtime boss´s reserved public demeanor. South had been with Davis since the governor ran successfully for lieutenant governor in 1994.
