Sponsored by:

The 9-year-old San Jose girl kidnapped from her home on Friday is safe this morning. Jennette Tamayo walked into a convenience store last night, crying and asking for help. This morning, Deputy Police Chief Rob Davis said Jennette is doing well and is being reunited with her family.

Isa Yasin owns the East Palo Alto shop where the little girl was found. He told The Associated Press he didn´t see anyone drop off Jennette. It´s not known how she got to the store, which is 15 miles from her home in San Jose.

Police confirmed that the little girl is safe and in their custody. Yasin said he´s not sure if the girl was injured or physically harmed. He said he was getting ready to close his shop when the child walked in. He talked to her briefly and realized she was the kidnapped child authorities had been searching for all weekend. He said he called police immediately.

An unidentified man followed Jennette into her home Friday afternoon and sped off with her after struggling with her mother and teenage brother.
