The mother of a California girl who survived a kidnapping says she taught her daughter to be “very observant and strong.” And prosecutors say the girl proved it during the ordeal.
Prosecutors say the man who took the 9 year old from her San Jose home sexually assaulted her repeatedly. Despite that, the girl kept her wits about her. They´re praising the girl for winning her release after two days, partly by telling her kidnapper she had asthma and could die without medication.
The girl´s mother says her daughter also memorized much of her kidnapper´s cell phone number, which helped authorities make a quick arrest.
