Scott Peterson appears to be a pretty popular jail inmate — at least judging by his mail, especially from women admirers. A fellow jail inmate tells the Modesto Bee that one of Peterson´s female correspondents is an inmate serving time for murdering her husband.
The inmate said a guard read the letter aloud.
Peterson is accused in the deaths of his wife and their unborn son. A Sheriff´s Department spokesman confirms Peterson gets a lot more mail than most jail inmates, but wouldn´t comment on who the senders are. But, a criminal justice professor at California State University in Stanislaus, says it´s not uncommon for young, attractive men who have been accused of terrible crimes to receive letters from female admirers.
According to the inmate, Peterson is also the object of special security precautions as he awaits trial. He says inmates on meal duty have been told to randomly select Peterson´s meal trays, to avoid poisoning.
