Medical Helicopter Waiting For Fall Victim

A medical helicopter has just landed in the field behind the Outpost mini-mart in Soulsbyville, awaiting the arrival of the fall victim from the Beardsley Lake area.

Firefighters and the helicopter will stand by there until rescue crews can bring the person out of the Stanislaus River canyon to an ambulance staged near the lake.

Fire dispatchers say rescue crews are in cell phone contact with the man. Another helicopter is headed to the scene from Columbia to airlift the man from down in the canyon. They will then drive from Beardsley to Soulsbyville and transfer the patient to the awaiting medical helicopter for a flight to a Modesto hospital.
