Suspect Kicks Out Patrol Car Windows

A pair of domestic violence arrests in Murphys led to an incident with one of the suspects.

Monday morning, a Calaveras County Sheriff´s Deputy responded to Pennsylvania Gulch Road in Murphys regarding an ongoing dispute.

19-year-old Trevor Gerhart was arrested and placed in the back of a deputy´s patrol car, where he then kicked out both door windows and tried to get away.

The deputy used a Tazer to stop Gerhart, who was then taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital for wounds caused by the broken glass.

Gerhart faces five charges including spousal battery, trespassing, and vandalism, and is being held on 55-thousand dollars bail.

Also arrested for spousal battery was 30-year-old Stephanie Ann Schuler of Murphys.
