California´s unemployment rate fell in August as the state added 31-hundred jobs.
A survey of employers indicates more than 14 and one-half million people held payroll jobs in August.
The state Employment Development Department says farm workers and the self-employed were not included in the survey.
The E-D-D also revised the figure for the number of payroll jobs lost in July to 93-hundred, down from the 17,300 jobs originally reported.
The state´s unemployment rate dipped to five-point-eight percent from a revised six-point-two percent.
The E-D-D says the jobless rate is the lowest in the state since September, 2001.
