A Dark Sunday Night In Downtown Sonora

Nearly a hundred downtown Sonora residents and visitors had to deal with a power outage Sunday night.

PG&E representatives report 90 customers were without power for some part of Sunday evening along Washington Street.

Underground power lines made locating the problem difficult, said David Eisenhower from PG&E.

“We don´t know what the cause is. We have a crew at the scene patrolling, to find out what the cause is. All of the power lines are underground there, so while the underground systems are good for not failing as much, it´s a little tougher to find the source of the outage,” said Eisenhower Sunday.

Lights for downtown folks came back on around 9:30pm.

Eisenhower says the cause is still under investigation.
