Governor Schwarzenegger is saying no to the state Legislature´s fourth straight attempt to let illegal immigrants in California apply for drivers licenses.
Schwarzenegger, vetoing the bill today, says it´s a security issue.
The veto follows a promise he made within minutes of the bill passing the Legislature last month.
Schwarzenegger has insisted all year that licenses issued to illegal immigrants must carry a special identifying mark.
Opponents called that discriminatory.
The veto comes 10 months after the governor persuaded lawmakers to repeal an earlier law allowing illegal immigrants to be licensed.
