A celebratory tree-planting happens today at noon at the Woods Creek Rotary Park. It´s sponsored by the City of Sonora and the Sonora Beautiful Committee.

The Calaveras Celtic Faire happens in Angels Camp at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. Fiddles, bagpipes, and Celtic rock band Wolfstone will be on tap. Admission is $18 for adults and $16 for kids.
For fans of the punk scene, five bands are performing at the Motherlode Fairgrounds in Sonora. It happens in the Manzanita building at 7pm Saturday. Tickets are 8 dollars.
And classical aficionados can enjoy Duo Concertante, a father-daughter, piano-violin team performing at the Red Church 3pm Sunday afternoon. Adult tickets are 10 dollars and 5 dollars for children.
