Governor Works To Mitigate West Nile

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill yesterday to require steps to control the mosquito population.

The assembly bill is aimed at controlling the outbreak of the West Nile Virus and requires licensed professionals, in partnership with the California Department of Health Services, to perform the mosquito abatement programs.

The west nile virus has already started to appear in birds and horses in California, and it´s expected to be a serious health threat when mosquito season kicks in this summer.
