Sacramento, CA — Just over half of California´s registered voters took part in the November 8th special election.
Secretary of State Bruce McPherson says 50.1 percent of the state´s nearly 16 million registered voters cast ballots, and nearly 40 percent voted absentee.
McPherson had predicted that only 42 percent of registered voters would turn out for the election.
Voters rejected all eight initiatives on the ballot, including four measures championed by Governor Schwarzenegger.
