Hong Kong, CA — California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has wrapped up a six-day, three-city trade mission to the Far East.
During Schwarzenegger´s visit, business leaders gushed about the celebrity governor´s ability to open doors in China´s expanding global marketplace.
And front-page glamour shots of Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, were splashed across local English-language newspapers.
But it´s not clear if the glow of the trip has helped Schwarzenegger´s political troubles at home. Earlier this month, voters defeated Schwarzenegger´s four initiatives on the ballot.
In a letter to the Los Angeles Times, one California resident suggested Schwarzenegger run for governor in China. As she put it: “He could eat Peking duck instead of crow.”
