Sonora, CA — PG&E says a power outage affecting about 2400 customers in the North and West portions of Sonora and points north along the Highway 49 corridor was caused by a tree falling on a power line.
Sonora police say the tree fell at the corner of Race Track Road and Bay Meadows. Police caution that stop lights are out at Restano Way and Washington Street as well as the intersection of Restano and Mono Way.
Police are reminding drivers that those intersections should be treated as four-way stops until the lights are back on.
PG&E says it hopes to have the power restored by 6:30 this morning. Parts of Columbia have already been brought back online.
Meanwhile Racetrack Road remains closed between Springfield and Bay Meadows.
