Oakdale, CA — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is making a last minute effort to promote four measures on tomorrow´s special election ballot.
At a rally yesterday the governor addressed a chanting crowd of supporters in Oakdale talking about education, union dues, state spending and redistricting. The governor also emphasized the importance of getting out to vote.
The governor has been stumping for Propositions 74, 75, 76 and 77, or his so called “year of reform” initiatives. The campaign called the “Reform and Rebuild California Roundup” made stops in Oakdale and Bakersfield yesterday.
A crowd chiefly comprised of union members, teachers and other protestors stood by chanting against the governor´s measures. Opponents have promised to shadow the governor in what they call a “truth bus,” holding rallies at some of the same places the governor stops.
Supporters and protestors were kept far apart and the atmosphere remained relatively peaceful.
