Modesto, CA — PG&E officials are still looking into the cause of a power outage yesterday that left about 40,000 customers from Oakdale to Sonora and most of Calaveras County in the dark.
The outage also affected customers in Amador, Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties.
Spokeswoman Emily Barnett says most of those customers were back online by 6:30 after crews rerouted power transmission through alternate lines.
Barnett says the trouble began when a large transmission sub-station in the Linden area went down.
PG&E officials continue to investigate.
