San Andreas, CA — CDF officials say a prescribed burn is scheduled in the San Andreas area this weekend as part of an ongoing vegetation management program.
CDF says the Pioneer burn will cover about ten acres along Highway 12 at the junction with Highway 49.
The operation is scheduled to take place from about 8:00 in the morning until noon.
The prescribed burn will be the third in a series of treatments aimed at reducing the fire threat to the town of San Andreas.
Officials say the operation will take place only if the conditions of fuel moisture, temperatures, humidity and winds are favorable. In the event that conditions change, CDF says the burn will be postponed.
