Legislative Leaders Say They’ll Target Transportation
Sacramento, CA –Governor Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders have agreed to make easing California´s congested roadways their first priority in 2006.
The Republican governor and the Legislature´s top four leaders met for about 90 minutes today in Schwarzenegger´s office.
Lawmakers said afterward that they discussed how to work toward solving some of the state´s top problems next year, particularly transportation.
Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez says lawmakers and the governor will work over the next several months to agree on legislation that would put more money into transportation projects.
The lawmakers say there´s not enough time left before lawmakers wrap up their 2005 session next month to agree on legislation now.
