Foreign Exchange Student Possibly Missing In Yosemite
Yosemite National Park, CA — A UC Davis Graduate is missing in the Yosemite National Park Area.
25-year-old Hyundo Ahn got a wilderness permit on June 20th to hike along the John Muir trail and no one has seen him since.
Scott Gedman with the park says authorities are unsure whether he is still in Yosemite, or even somewhere close to it.
Ahn is a foreign exchange student from South Korea and was planning on doing some traveling before returning home after completing his courses at UC Davis. Gedman says it is a difficult situation because Park Officials are not even sure he went on the 211-mile trail.
Currently Gedman is working closely with the UC Davis Police Department in hopes of finding any evidence related to Ahn´s disappearance. He did not have a car and traveled from the Sacramento area to Merced on a bus; however Gedman is uncertain how he got to Yosemite.
His bus tickets to Los Angeles as well as his plane tickets home to South Korea have not been used. Anyone with information regarding Ahn´s whereabouts is asked to call the UC Davis Police Department, or the Yosemite National Park.
