Customers of PG&E had some outages to deal with over the weekend in Strawberry, Pinecrest, Long Barn, Twain Harte, and Mi Wuk.
Friday night, the lights went out for a large number of people, according to Emily Barnett with PG&E. The transmission line that was affected was out from 6:30 Friday evening until about 9:30pm…”Obviously, these are all weather-related. I believe a tree fell on the line [in this case]. It said two substations, so thats why 9600 customers were affected. You have to do [such repairs] in stages, for safety reasons and for the configuration of the line,” Barnett explained.
Then Saturday morning, another weather-related outage had 1600 customers without electricity for most of the day in the Dodge Ridge area. In this case, repairs were quite difficult to make, Barnett said, because “it was in a remote location.” Most customers had their power restored by 11pm Saturday, and everyone had their service back on by 2:30 Sunday afternoon, according to Barnett.
In addition, power lines were down on Old Strawberry Road, according to the CHP. Barnett said she wasn´t certain about that, “but that wouldn´t surprise me, because we know a tree did fall on the line and the wires were down.”
