A combined agency task force has been assembled to respond to gang activity in and around the city of Ceres.
The task force includes Ceres and Modesto police, the Stanislaus County Special Investigations Unit, Probation, Department of Corrections, and the countywide Gang Intelligence Task Force. Their four-day sweep was designed to contact gang members and enforce applicable laws.
Over 88 arrests were made by the task force, and officials say many of those arrested were affiliated with gangs. Four weapons were confiscated, 65 tickets were written and 45 cars were towed… and in one car stop, a parolee was arrested for possession for sale of over a pound of marijuana.
