The San Mateo County court in Redwood City that hosted the Scott Peterson murder trial is facing funding shortfalls in the case´s aftermath.
A judge in San Mateo County says Stanislaus County is to blame, since it hasn´t repaid trial costs. Stanislaus County is where the case originated. The trial cost San Mateo County Superior Court about 625-thousand dollars — of which only 400-thousand dollars has been reimbursed.
The trial was moved from Stanislaus County after a judge there found Peterson couldn´t get a fair trial in Modesto. Peterson was found guilty of killing his wife and her fetus and was scheduled to be sentenced on March Eleventh.
